How to Deal with Life's Uncertainties

How much of your time do you spend wondering what life would be like if you took on a different career? Perhaps you have wondered about the future and what it holds for you. The amount of time you spend worrying about the future and the uncertainties that it brings only puts you in a dangerous position.

The fear of the future puts you in a staggering position. You are entering a territory that is scary because it can be unfamiliar to you. You stand there wondering what will happen or how it will affect you. All of these uncertainties are normal, and it happens all the time to almost everyone.

Whether it is about starting a new job, taking on a new course for self-improvement, or being in a new relationship, all of them do not only have uncertainty to offer. Each one presents itself with a possibility. If you look at the other side of things, you will see that it brings about the kind of change that you need in your life.

If you decide to take on a new project for your business or start on that new blog, you know that you are putting yourself in the position of growth. After all, there is a huge difference between risk and uncertainty because it only becomes a risk if you know that you are in a dangerous position, but you still take it on.

However, it becomes an uncertainty when you know it offers an opportunity for growth, but you're just too scared to give it a try.

How Do You Respond To Uncertainty?

When you decide to embrace uncertainty, you know that you are doing yourself a favor. What it makes you do is surprising, but it definitely shows what a worthy endeavor it is.

Here are some of the things that you didn't realize you were doing in response to uncertainty:

  • You conduct extensive research. You open your door to new learning because you want to know what you will gain back if you gave it a try. Sometimes, the information you learn becomes overwhelming, but it nonetheless inspires you to give in and just do it.
  • Uncertainty definitely points you in the direction of new learning. It makes you buy books or sign up for programs that will serve as your guide to the new endeavor you are about to take on. It isn't necessarily a bad idea but will lead you to what is truly certain.
  • It helps you build ties with different people. You begin your search for experts in the field who can guide you. All of these, you do with the hope that at some point, you will reach something that's certain that you can hold it in your hands. There's no magic pill to it, but you take it on anyway.
  • It makes you put off decision-making as you know you need to think things over. It becomes harder to decide because you know that you need to educate yourself before you can make any sound decisions. This might often be the most common effect of uncertainty in a person's life, but it is the most efficient, too.
  • Sadly, uncertainty can also make you give up on your plan altogether. You begin to doubt yourself whether you can do it or not. You begin to ask yourself why you are doing what you are doing. Unfortunately, some people facing the truth of uncertainty give up even before they begin.

These are all very common reactions to uncertainty. There are no right or wrong situations as each one is different. However, if you give in to the negativity that comes with things that are uncertain, there is something about life that you are giving up.

So how do you deal with the uncertainty in your life? It isn't easy, but it is not impossible to overcome.

What Do You Know About The Mindset Shift?

Perhaps the first thing that you have to consider when it comes to dealing with uncertainty is that it is not bad at all. It is also something that cannot be avoided. In fact, it comes with everything that is worth doing.

Feeling the uncertainty in what you do is the same feeling that will reassure you that you are doing something challenging yet meaningful. If only you embraced uncertainty, you would know how it feels to be loved, to be amazed, and to be surprised by what the future holds.

Second, when you shift your mind about uncertainty, remember that they open doors of opportunity. It is not something that you should run from. Instead, embrace it as it is a good place to be in. Uncertainty allows you to learn. It puts you in a position to grow, create, and become a better version of yourself.

Every time you feel like you are uncertain about something, think of it as a calling for you to look beyond where you are at the moment. Open up and be open to something new, and don't turn around and run away from the opportunity to do things in a different way.

Rather than indulging yourself in old traditional ways that have given you the feeling that you're stuck, let go and open up. Make that mind shift today and enjoy every opportunity uncertainty gives you.

How Do You Open The Door Of Uncertainty?

How do you make uncertainty a useful tool for development? Here are a few tips you can take on:

  • Practice it with devotion. Remind yourself that everything that is uncertain in your life is an opportunity for growth. Focus on learning new things, not simply completing tasks.
  • Go with your gut and figure it out along the way. When you are about to make a decision, go, and follow your gut feeling. If you always base your decision on what you know, then you'll never learn anything new.
  • Embrace the thought that you don't know everything. This will put you in a position where you will yearn to learn more, try something new, and become better than yesterday.

The path of uncertainty is telling you something. It is not that you can't handle it, but rather, it is a fact that it opens up opportunities where you can be anything and everything you can be.
