Encouragement is the act of giving another person confidence and support. When it comes to the importance of motivation, everyone knows that being supported by those you love is sometimes the only thing that keeps you going when the going gets tough.
Everyone needs a little encouragement from time to time. Whether it comes as words or actions, every person who is encouragement is enlightened. They are given hope that all will be well in time.
While everyone can be a source of inspiration, not everyone will be willing to give it away. Selfishness is an unfortunate part of human nature. Sometimes, people take advantage of others who are struggling. They put them down even more by judging them poorly or kicking them while they are down. Obviously, this discouragement of your fellow human doesn’t actually help you feel better about yourself, even if you think it will. Perhaps, right now, you are the victim of someone who is putting you down, and you’re becoming discouraged.
In a world where it seems too easy to get discouraged, the thought of giving up comes easy. In fact, it is the only escape that people have. When there is no one to turn to for encouragement, and you feel down, it can be easy to decide to give up. Everyone else is so busy with their own lives that they forget one of the moral obligations of a person is to be part of a world family or community.
You need to keep on fighting and to hold on to hope, even if you have to encourage yourself to keep going. You also need to help lift other people up on your journey to success.
Self-encouragement is essential to your journey to success because, ultimately, you are in control of your mindset. Support from outside sources can definitely help, but inner strength is what makes the difference. How does self-encouragement help you?
What does it take to encourage someone so that they can be the best that they can be? Building up others does not only benefit them, but the act itself helps you as well. But how do you encourage someone that will also support you in the process? How do you hit two birds with one stone?
Building encouragement means to enlighten someone. It means to inform, to educate, to improve, and to instruct. But what does each aspect mean? How do each of these aspects differ, and how do they specifically help you and others?
Englightenment is the ability of a person to clarify the circumstances of a given situation. This is when a person needs the most support as something remains a mystery. When it seems as if nothing is going right and you cannot understand what is happening, it will appear as if there is nothing else that you can do but give up. In truth, all you need is a little bit of enlightenment. It means you need to surround yourself with people who can help you understand your situation and give it a different light.
To inform is to provide people with knowledge to help them understand things better. This is when new words and new ideas are introduced. Whenever you engage in something new, do not be afraid to ask for help. Asking for help means sending out a positive insight about something you clearly do not have a full grasp. When you get help, don’t forget to express your gratitude for the support you received.
The idea behind this one is similar to that of enlightenment. It is learning the more profound importance of the things happening around you. To educate does not only focus on learning something new. Instead, it is also about lifting someone else’s burden of not knowing and giving them insight as to what is on hand. Remember, if you are in a place where you can educate, go ahead, and provide them with something that could stick with them.
Giving instruction is similar to educating someone. However, the process is different because this time, the person teaching is someone who comes with authority. In general, it is easy to tell others what needs to be done, but to give instruction is to help them understand why each step works and its implication to the whole. Not only did you help them learn something new, but you are putting them in a situation where they can build a skill set too.
When you consider yourself as a work in progress, you know that there is always room for improvement. The whole point of working with others is for you to be able to help them improve. In the process, the goal is for you to improve yourself as well.
Luckily, a little bit of encouragement goes a long way. So stop and think for a second. What is it that you are most thankful for? Whether it is a small or a big thing, remember that there is always something for which to be grateful.
Keep the thought of gratitude. If you can help another, uplift their spirits then go ahead. Reflect on yourself and make sure that you become a stepping stone for another person to recognize the value and beauty of life.
