Powerful Motivation to Keep in Mind TODAY

What do you do to motivate yourself every day? Have you lost your motivation at work? If you’re having a problem staying motivated, it may be a mystery to you how prosperous individuals can keep such a high level of energy and enthusiasm in what they’re doing. How do we continue to go after our dreams even if we face a lot of challenging obstacles along the way?

Different Ways to Stay Motivated

There’s so much we can learn from how people succeed in reaching their goals. But before we delve into the motivation techniques that they use, let’s take a look at the different ways that you can stay motivated.

How to Set Goals

Setting your goals is among the most effective ways that you can motivate yourself. There’s a trick in this technique, though. You have to set your goals just right. If your goals are too complicated or unrealistic, then you lose interest or don’t bother trying.

On the other hand, if the goals are too easy, then you know you’ll be able to achieve them even if you exert little to no effort. As humans, we have to know how to trick our minds into becoming motivated. Our goals should be just right, enough to challenge your current abilities but not so hard that you cant achieve them.

Think of Your “Why”

Another technique that can help in motivating yourself is by thinking of your reasons why you’re doing what you’re doing. Think of this as something like having a higher purpose to what you set out to do. So, gather you’re best reasons for why you want to pursue your goals.

No matter what your goal is--saving money, losing weight, quitting smoking, or starting a business--ask yourself why you want to do it. Grab a sheet of paper and list your answers. Continue asking, “why?” and your answers will undoubtedly surprise you.

Find Someone Who Can Keep You Accountable

Are you having difficulties when it comes to staying committed? You may have made and broken so many promises to yourself already. The answer to this problem is to have someone you trust who can hold you accountable.

Have your significant other, friend, sibling, or even roommate take the journey with you. For example, ask them if they want to join you in your weight loss challenge. You can then work out together, go running together, and make sure you’re both eating healthy foods.

When you do things alone, it’s much easier to slack off. But if you’re pursuing a goal with another person, you both can check on other’s progress. You can even have a friendly competition with each other.

Staying Motivated Every Single Day

There are so many excellent tools that you can use as self-motivation techniques. However, there’s a powerful motivation technique that you should keep in mind and practice. And that is to take care of your body and keep it healthy.

Our reality is this: we live inside our bodies, and while motivation is a state of mind, it is influenced by your physical state. Try to remember the last time you had a fever or diarrhea, did you feel motivated during those times? Of course not, you were sick.

You can only maintain your positive motivation if your body is healthy and if you feel physically energized. Here are the steps on how you can ensure that you have the energy that you need to stay motivated every day.

Give Your Body Enough Time to Recover

As you’re developing your self-motivation skills, remember to rest. Sleep is the body’s way of recovering and repairing itself. It’s important that you get eight hours of sound sleep each night. Try your best to improve your sleep by making your bedroom as comfortable as possible. Also, it’s better for you if you don’t watch TV in the bedroom because the light and sound coming from it will disrupt your sleep.

You can try other activities before sleeping, such as reading a book or magazine, practicing breathing techniques, or meditating. These activities will help you relax, and it will be much easier for you to fall asleep.

Keep Yourself Hydrated

If you don’t keep yourself hydrated, you’ll feel less motivated to do your tasks. Research states that even just mild dehydration can immediately cause you to lose focus, have difficulty making decisions, and you’ll have less energy. Drinking water keeps the mind working properly.

You can keep a water jug near your desk, in your car, or in your bag so that you’ll always be reminded to drink water. Try to cut down on sodas and coffee, too. Water is your mind’s fuel. If you want to be motivated each day, don’t forget your eight glasses of water.

Staying Healthy with Proper Diet and Exercise

The food you eat provides energy to the body. You need energy so your body can influence your mind that you’re ready to take on any task that needs to be done. So, eat your meals and don’t skip even one. Take time to prepare and eat your food. You may argue that you don’t have enough time. But you need to make time for your meals if you want to enjoy the feeling of being motivated each day.

And lastly, to keep your motivation high, you also need to exercise. Don’t worry; you don’t need to spend a ton of hours at the gym unless you want to. You can simply take the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Walk around the neighborhood in the mornings. You can also ride your bicycle to work. There are so many ways that you can get your body moving.

As you can see, motivating yourself is simple. You already know these things; you just have to practice them. Once you start sleeping better, keeping yourself hydrated, eating healthily, and exercising regularly, you can be sure that your motivation will be renewed each day.
