While it may not always be evident how debt, procrastination, and relationship problems are related to fear, somehow, it seems every problem is rooted in dealing with it.

Teach yourself how to overcome fear in life, and you will have a fuller existence. But where do you begin? How do you start telling yourself to go on and do what makes you happy?

Fear is everywhere, but your source of comfort could come from anywhere too. When you teach yourself to be fearless, you open yourself up to more opportunities for growth and learning. In the long run, you will benefit from overcoming those fears and teaching yourself to be more open.

Your fear has prevented you from doing the things that make your soul soar. To begin dealing with those fears, you need to get to the root cause of the problem. What are you so afraid of? Here are common reasons why you may be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and try new things.

Fear that you might not be good enough

You grew up in an environment where you are told that winning is everything. You live in a highly competitive society that continually reminds you that you need to win for your effort to count. If you have been procrastinating, then this might be the very reason why you are. You have learned to put off doing things because you are afraid that it might not yield the expected results. You have become afraid of trying your best and yet not being good enough in the end.

The same thing holds true when you get yourself in a relationship. You have this constant fear of not being the best person for your partner. And in your desire to give him nothing but the best, you end up competing with everyone else. In the long run, such practices could be exhausting. You could end up resenting your partner for making you feel like you’re not good enough when they never really did. This constant fear is going to eat the best of you even before you realize it.

Fear that you don’t have enough

Media plays a massive role in how people these days choose to live their lives. It is repeated time and again that you need to have more of everything. But is it true? In reality, you only need a few simple things to survive and be happy. If you think that the happiest people in the world are the richest ones, you are looking at life in incorrectly.

The happiest people are the ones who have learned to live simply by making the best of what they have. Fear of losing everything

What would you do if you lost your car? What would you do if you didn’t have an internet connection? What would you do if you couldn’t get out of the house? All these ungrounded fears of losing everything you think are important are what’s making you feel anxious. You’ve been programmed to believe that you need all of those things to survive.

In truth, even with very little, you can be happy. If you currently have a problem with gambling, drinking, or are drowning in debt, fear could be the root cause of all your issues.

How To Learn To Live With Fear

Fear has become a part of us. If you want to know how not to be scared of anything, then you need to find ways to turn your fears into opportunities. How do you do it?

Accept that fear is a part of you

When you make your fear your best friend, it could help you see things in a different light. Fear is a part of being a human. Accept that it is an innate part of who you are, so you stop thinking up ways of how to destroy it. Fear can motivate you to become better, to survive, or to pursue greater things.

Be aware of what you are afraid of

If you can’t seem to move forward to do the things that you want, get to the bottom of it and find out what is causing the fear. When you know what you are dealing with, it becomes fairly easy to comfort yourself and prevent the same fear from overpowering you.

Be grateful for the fears that you have

When you show gratitude towards your fear and how it helps you grow as a person, you will see that everything that scares you teaches you an important lesson in life. Hard work and opportunities come to those who work hard. No matter how scared you are of something, don’t let it stop you from discovering important things about yourself and life. You don’t want to be the same person ten years from now. Instead, be a better version of yourself from the future.

Learning to deal with your fears isn’t a walk in the park. But it doesn’t also mean that you should let it stop you from growing. Dealing with fear is all a matter of practice. Seeking comfort in discomfort can be learned.
